I am a curator and cultural practitioner. My work focuses on the relationship between art and collective care, understanding the collective as more-than-human. I explore notions of otherness and mutuality in an interplay between the poetic and the political.
I have curated group and solo exhibitions and have published several articles on platforms such as Público, Shifter and the “Read, Watch, Listen” section of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. I edited and published the book Edible Ecologies. An Artists’ Recipe Book and am currently editing a toolkit as part of the European project Institution(ing)s. In 2024, I was curator-in-residence at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, in partnership with the French delegation of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and closely followed the Sounds of Places residency at the Wonder Cabinet in Bethlehem, Palestine. In 2025, I was curatorial resident at Sant Andreu Contemporani in Barcelona.
I collaborate with the Albuquerque Foundation in the areas of communication and public programming. I hold a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from University College Maastricht and an MA in Cultural Studies (Arts and Cultural Management) from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Lisbon.
My work grows through dialogue and collaboration. If it resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you at jule.kurbjeweit(a)gmail.com.
